You got a new puppy thinking it is cute but it is now creating troubles for you by
barking too much? This is a common problem with inexperienced dog owners.
Your house is not an odd place for you but for a new puppy, it can be difficult to
digest relocation. As per the experts, most of the puppies bark ridiculously for a
stretch because they fear being lonely. Puppies or dogs can suffer anxiety
attacks and this is when they start barking and keep on doing so.
You just leave the room and they will start barking that very instant. Think about
you leaving the house for a few hours? Before you brought the puppy to your
house, it was with its mother and other puppies. They were very secure in their
minds or simply put they were familiar and comfortable. Are you still annoyed at
your little barking puppy?
So many people just stroke their puppies or dogs and make them quiet but are
you doing justice to them? If you keep on continuing this, you are likely to have a
spoil dog in near future. But you can’t even let it bark and bark. After all, you
don’t want to annoy your family and friends. Using the below mentioned dog
training methods, you can simply win over this situation. Try these steps and
cope up with this barking issue:
1.) Try and ignore the barking as much as you can rather than shouting at the
puppy. Your shouting will never solve the issue. By shouting, you are either
making it more anxious resulting into severe anxiety attack or you are will
just scare the puppy and the puppy will stop coming to you out of love.
2.) You now know that your puppy or dog is barking because of the fear of
being alone. So, try and avoid any situation where you have to leave for
some work for long hours. Your departure will scare the puppy even more.
A golden rule here is to NOT spend time with your puppy and speak
sweetly JUST before you leave because after you leave, your puppy will
start missing you resulting into anxiety. Same should be followed on home
coming. Simply don’t let your dog wait for you as at the times of late home
coming, your dog will get depressed.
3.) Water gun is a nice solution to stop your dog from barking. In dog
training sessions, water gun is used widely as it doesn’t do any harm to
the puppy/dog. Whenever the dog starts barking, just spray a little amount
of water on its face and it will stop right there. Don’t spray more water as
we do not want to flood our dog’s nose.
In a nutshell, when you are dog training, you should always keep one thing in
mind that the reason behind your puppy’s barking is the feeling of being all
alone. Don’t be harsh on them. Give it some time and soon you will have a
loving, calm and peaceful pet.
